Sugar production in the Philippines is foreseen to go down by as much as ten percent due to pressures coming in from high fuel and fertilizer prices, according to the country's sugar institute.
But inflationary worries are not the only reasons. A recent law passed requires oil companies to have an ethanol blended to their ethanol products. More information here in Reuters.
