A Muslim rebel bomb attacked the South Philippines ahead of a summit of Asian Nations this month and Washington is offering a $50,000 reward for the capture of the bomber. Abdul Basit Usman, a former member of the Muslim separatist Moro Islamic Liberation Front (Milf) and presumed to have ties with other radical militant groups, is believed to be behind multiple bombings since October 2006. In October 2006 three bombings attributed to Basit Usman were responsible for the killings of eight and injuring of 30 more.
