Government will impose truck ban

To further ease traffic flow in the country, the Department of Interior and Local Government has issued a memorandum to the local units to craft ordinances that will ban trucks from using the roads during peak times--or simply times when there are most cars on the roads. The directive gives the local governments to craft their ordinances and create consultation panels by September 30.

Broadcast, wire, Internet news agency may not submit sources if Sotto Law amendment gets passed

The rights of the ever-free journalists in the Philippines might just get more, once a new law gets passed.

If this law gets passed, journalists in wire, broadcast, and in the Internet will have the privilege not to disclose their sources unless it is a matter of national security.

This will actually be an amendment of an already-existing law, the Sotto Law, which gives priviliege only to print journalists.

Non-index crime rate falls

The Philippine National Police posted a better crime record this year with a slower index crime rate in the past six months. Index crimes, as classified by the PNP, are Murder, homicide, physical injury and, robbery, and theft.

Government workers to receive 10% wage increase

Eraserheads Concert Sucks?

Philippine Airlines expect profits to drop this year
