The Philippines is home to the Tubbataha reef, which is a protected National Marine Park and produces roughly two percent of the world's fish stock. Thirty Chinese poachers were nabbed by Filipino officials at the reef with tons of live fish including endangered fish that the possession of carries a fine per fish of US$2,400 and a prison term of up to 20 years.While the 30 Chinese poachers do face a number of charges, they have all been released on bail.
